Congress MP from Unnao Annu Tandon today denied reports of her quitting the party, and said whether the party gives her a ticket in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections or not, she would remain a Congress loyalist.

"I am aware that some opposition parties, specially Bahujan Samaj Party workers and members are spreading rumours about me joining BJP. I want to make it clear that I am in Congress and I would continue to be a party member," Tandon said.

Asked if the party does not nominate her from her present Unnao seat in the upcoming general elections, Tandon said whoever the party high command selects for the seat she would give full support to the candidate to strengthen the party.

She refuted reports of her attending BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's rally in Lucknow on March 2, accusing the BSP is spreading such canards.

"I am a loyal soldier of the Congress party and would counter the negative propaganda by the Opposition with full force," she said.

Tandon said she has been visiting rural villages to apprise the people about the development initiatives taken up by the UPA government for their uplift.
