It was meant to be a meeting called to introspect and delve into the reasons of Congress party’s defeat in Bhilwara, but it turned out to be a show of fist fight between two groups within the party.

The meeting brought further humiliation to the party after its debacle in the recent Assembly elections.

The party workers not only knocked down and smashed each other but former minister Ramlal Jat and municipal council chair man Pyrelal Khoiwal too got hooked in a verbal spat. Hooliganism started when a group of leaders and party workers blamed Bhilwara MP CP Joshi for the party’s defeat in the region, thereby inviting the wrath of Joshi supporters.

Even senior leaders like Ramlal Jat and Khoiwal could not resist and started quarrelling with each other.

Sources informed that the entire Congress camp in Bhilwara is divided over the manner in which tickets were distributed in the Assembly election.

Both Jat and Khoiwal were taken inside the room by other party workers to settle the issue but in vain. Jat later left the meeting after which supporters of Khoiwal started beating up Jat’s supporters. Supporters of both the camp knocked each other down and hit each other hard.

NSUI district president Kailash Chaudhary was also beaten up by Khoiwal supporters. According to sources, Khoiwal later informed that police about the entire incident and asked for their help.
