Keeping safe distance from the Supreme Court ruling in Judge Loya's case and barrage of charges against him by the BJP, Congress President Rahul Gandhi chose to target Amit Shah saying the truth has its own way of catching up with people like him.

In a tweet Gandhi said, "Indians are deeply intelligent. Most Indians, including those in the BJP, instinctively understand the truth about Mr Amit Shah. The truth has its own way of catching up with people like him."

His tweet came after the BJP leaders sought Gandhi's apology for hatching a conspiracy to target Shah and the Indian judiciary.

Disagreeing with the Supreme Court for trashing pleas seeking probe into Judge Loya's "mysterious" death, the Congress said, issue of criminality or lack of it can only be decided through an investigation that never happened in Judge Loya's case.

Congress media in-charge Randeep Surjewala said, "No one, without an investigation, can decide whether death is natural or not? We believe there is material that was never placed before the Supreme Court."

"There is material that can only be examined in an investigation and not in a PIL. There are discrepancies and documents that were not before the Supreme Court for the State of Maharashtra never placed them," he added.

Surjewala insisted that the matter needs to be thoroughly investigated with all the evidence, with all the link chain evidence, with all the documents and discrepancies therein with all the over-writing that has been brought out so as to arrive at a just conclusion regarding the reasons for death of Judge Loya.

In a 10-pointer poser, the Congress also questioned the mysterious death of two close associates of Judge Loya – Advocate Khandalkar's who body was found in a district court of Nagpur after an alleged fall from 8th floor on November 28, 2015 and retired Judge Thombre who died in suspicious circumstances while travelling on train from Nagpur to Bangalore on May 16, 2016.

Another advocate Satish Ulke, who raised the issue, narrowly escaped when a heavy iron, weighing 5,000 kg, fell on his office on June 8, 2016. Why there has been no FIR and investigation in these cases, it asked.

"Hopefully, in an independent and impartial inquiry monitored by Supreme Court, the truth of Judge Loya's death one day will come out positively," Surjewala said.
