Expressing surprise over the "coincidence" of bomb blasts and Narendra Modi's rally in Patna, Congress today called for a thorough probe into the issue noting that it could otherwise create a "perfect setting for Modi's launch in Bihar".
"Another blast in Patna! Strongly condemn this. Nitish should find the culprit otherwise a perfect setting for Modi's launch in Bihar!" party general secretary Digvijay Singh tweeted.
In another post on the microblogging site, he posted, "What a coincidence blast at Patna Railway on the day of Modi's rally! Challenge to Nitish government to find the culprit!".
Party general secretary Shakeel Ahmed, who is a senior party leader from Bihar told PTI that a "thorough" probe should be carried out into the incident.
"We condemn in strongest terms the bomb blast in Patna. It is now incumbent upon the state government and central agencies to go deep into the investigation," he said.
Ahmed said that whoever is behind the incident should be brought to book.
"We stand by the family and I share their grief and anguish over this unfortunate incident," he said.
In a tweet hours before the blasts rocked Patna, Ahmed tweeted, "whenever someone says communal politics is the main cause of communal terrorism, BJP starts abusing. Why ?"
