At a time when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is visiting Japan to co-chair the strategic dialogue with her Japanese counterpart Taro Kono and review the entire gamut of bilateral ties, Congress party appeared to make efforts to settle the score with her. Sulking after embracing Twitter poll humiliation on March 25, Congress posted another survey on Swaraj on Thursday and asked her to retweet it now. But this time Congress didn't dare to question the calibre of Sushma Swaraj as an external affairs minister.

The question for the new survey is: "Which of these two is Sushma Swaraj's biggest failure? #IndiaSpeaks". The two options available for users are - '39 Indians killed in Iraq', 'Unresolved Doklam dispute'. Now, the framing of the question doesn't have an option for those who tend to disagree with both the questions.

Posting the question, the Congress said: "Since many people didn't quite get the previous poll, this one should make things explicitly clear. Dear @SushmaSwaraj M'am, feel free to retweet."

The question that Congress had asked on March 25 was: "Do you think the death of 39 Indians in Iraq is Sushma Swaraj's biggest failure as foreign minister?" While 25 per cent had voted 'Yes', a massive 76 per cent had voted 'No'. March 25 poll turned out to be a major embarrassment for Congress on social media. The embarrassment for the Congress party was compounded when the Minister herself retweeted the poll and the results were hugely tilted in her favour.

Several people accused the Congress party of playing politics using the name of the dead. As many as 40 Indians were abducted by ISIS in June 2015 from Mosul in Iraq but one of them escaped by posing as a Muslim from Bangladesh, Swaraj had said in Rajya Sabha. The remaining 39 Indians were taken to Badoosh and killed. The party had even moved a moved a privilege motion against her stating that she had misled Parliament.

Sushma Swaraj has not responded to the Tweet as she is on an important visit to Japna. External Affairs Minister on Thursday held a bilateral meeting with her Japanese counterpart Taro Kono for discussing ways to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Japan. Prior to this, Swaraj met the chairman of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Policy Research Council Fumio Kishida.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar captured the moments of the meeting between the two leaders.
Earlier on Thursday, while addressing a gathering of Indian diaspora at the Vivekanand Cultural Centre in Tokyo, Swaraj lauded the contribution of the diaspora for strengthening the bond with Japan and creating a positive image about India in Japan.
"India-Japan relations are stronger than before, a major reason for this is Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi's and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's friendship. India's relations with Japan have strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi," Swaraj said.
