Congress, AAP volunteers absent from polling desks in Gurgaon

Thursday, 10 April 2014 - 3:06pm IST | Place: Gurgaon | Agency: dna webdesk

As election day progresses, the AAP and the Congress party workers have deserted their desks outside the Patio club booth in south city at Gurgaon.

The posh area, which is home to what Narendra Modi often refers to as the neo-middle class, has already seen a 65% polling turn out today. The only party workers outside the booth helping voters with their election slips etc, were volunteers from the BJP.

The two volunteers, Saumitra Agarwal, an architect and Sanjeev, a software professional, claimed they were not party members but were both volunteering for the BJP and encouraging voters to vote for the BJP in order to see Narendra Modi as the next prime minister.
