North Goa additional collector, Sabaji Shetye arrested red handed while accepting a bribe has been admitted in the Goa Medical College and Hospital after complaining of chest pain.

The Anti Corruption Bureau has decided to halt the probe till the hospital declares him fit. They were supposed to start his custodial interrogation from Tuesday.

On the other side, massive politics has begun on the issue after the arrest of this senior bureaucrat. "BJP always claims that they function on "zero corruption". They are in power from last five years. How was this continuing?" said leader of opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has taken a firm stand insisting that anybody involved in any kind of corrupt practice would pay price henceforth.

"The message is loud and clear. There cannot be any compromise on integrity and character. We are here to deliver for the people. Everybody should keep it in mind," Parrikar said.

Aam Aadmi Party has however raised the issue of pending corruption cases with the ACB."What happened to the raids conducted in the past? All those investigations are either pending or inconclusive. Government is cherry picking while taking action", said state convenor of AAP Elvis Gomes.
