Cold wave claims 3 in Uttar Pradesh, Nazibabad coldest at 2.5 degrees Celcius

Cold wave continued unabated in Uttar Pradesh disrupting normal life and has claimed three lives in Barabanki district since last night.

An unidentified person sleeping in the open was found dead in Balchatt village under Jaidpur police station in Barabanki this morning, police said. In similar incidents, Bhullar Kannaujia (65) of Ram Sanehighat tehsil and Ram Vilas Yadav (62) of Bedhari village under Asandra police station areas died of cold in the district, police said.

MeT office here said that fog occurred at most places over the state. Night temperatures fell in Allahabad division, rose in Bareilly division and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
They were markedly below normal in Varanasi division, appreciably below normal in Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Agra divisions, below normal in Moradabad division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.

Lowest minimum temperature was 2.5 degree Celsius recorded at Nazibabad (Bijnore). Weathermen have forecast that fog would occur at most places with dense to very dense fog at few places over the state.
