Finally, the Lucknow police on Saturday arrested two youths for intercepting a bus carrying Japan’s junior hockey team and threatening its driver with a rifle on Friday for overtaking their SUV. The SUV had the ruling Samajwadi Party’s flag.

Luv Kush and Pramod were arrested after the intervention of the UP chief minister. After DNA published the report on Friday, the Japanese team complained with their embassy. The UP police had on Friday let the two off the hook saying “no arms were found in the car (UP 32 GP 8850),” despite eyewitnesses saying that one of the two was carrying a rifle. “Extra security has ben provided to the team,” an official said.
