CM Harish Rawat salutes martyrdom of Uttarakhand soldiers

Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Thursday saluted the martyrdom of Subedar Ajayvardhan Tomar and Aan Singh, two soldiers from Uttarakhand who died recently fighting militants and insurgents in Jammu-Kashmir and Assam respectively.

"Soldiers from Uttarakhand have always sacrificed their lives to protect the country's frontiers. This is a fact we are proud of," the chief minister said and prayed for peace to their souls and fortitude to their kin to bear the loss.

Subedar Ajayvardhan Tomar from Dehradun was in 14 Garhwal Rifles and fell to the bullets of militants recently at Naugam in J-K in an anti-militancy operation while Aan Singh who belonged to Pithoragarh district was an Assam Rifles jawan.
