Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi at his residence in Mumbai on Monday. The Chief Minister had earlier said that he would install an eco-Ganesha made of clay at his official residence, Varsha bungalow.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi at his residence in Mumbai on Monday. The Chief Minister had earlier said that he would install an eco-Ganesha made of clay at his official residence, Varsha bungalow.

Monday marks the 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Fadnavis has underlined the importance of eco-friendly celebration of festival and said that environment had important place in our culture. "The way we celebrate our festivals has changed with time and there is a need for all of us to take due precautions and ensure there is no danger to environment while celebrating festivities," said Fadnavis.

While talking about eco-Ganeshas, Fadnavis had said that growing pollution and spread of diseases were nothing but man made issues which needs to be tackled by changing lifestyle. "There is a need to repay the nature which is giving us everything and we all have to repay it to the nature by celebrating festivities in an eco-friendly manner," he had said.
