Chilly wind continues to sweep Himachal Pradesh

The state capital Shimla witnessed sunny but chilly day as minimum temperature remained almost static at 7 deg Celsius, the MeT office officials said.

The biting cold wave condition continued to prevail in Himachal Pradesh with the chilly winds sweeping most parts of the region even as day and night temperatures rose by 2 to 4 degrees across the sate.

The state capital Shimla witnessed sunny but chilly day as minimum temperature remained almost static at 7 deg Celsius, the MeT office officials said.

Keylong, the district headquarter of the Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest place in the region with the night temperature measuring at minus 5.7 deg Celsius while Kalpa in Kinnuar district it recorded a low of 0.6 deg Celsius.

The night temperature in other parts of the state, Bhuntar was recorded a low of 3.6 deg, Dharamsala 7.8 deg, Sundernagar 2.1 deg, Una 4.2 deg and Solan 0.8 deg C, the officials added.

Una was the hottest place in the region with the day temperature recording at 24.4 deg C followed by Solan 23.5 deg, Sundernagar 23.3 deg, Bhuntar 21.8 deg and Dharamsala 21.2 deg C.

The local MeT office has predicted mainly dry weather for the next 24 hours.
