The Delhi Police on Monday said that the CCTV footage recovered from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence to investigate alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was tampered with.

The police said that there are discrepancies in the timings on the CCTV system and a further examination is needed in the matter. The police told a Delhi court that it will send the footage to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.

Delhi's top bureaucrat has alleged that he was assaulted by a few AAP MLAs last week during an official meeting in the presence of Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia. Kejriwal's office has dismissed the accusation as "bizarre and baseless".

Police has arrested two AAP MLAs - Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal - after the complaint by the Chief Secretary.

On February 23, the police had seized a hard disk of the CCTV camera system installed at Kejriwal's residence in connection with the investigation into the alleged assault.

Several policemen went to Kejriwal's official residence in the Civil Lines area where Prakash was allegedly assaulted on the intervening night of February 19-20.

A total of 21 CCTV cameras and a hard disk were examined by the police. The hard disk has been seized and any possibility of "tampering" with the system could be ascertained only through forensic examination, said Additional DCP (North) Harendra Singh.

Since the alleged attack on the chief secretary, officers have not been attending meetings of the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues, demanding that Kejriwal apologise for the incident.

Meanwhile, a senior government official said the Delhi government is mulling live streaming of all official meetings in the wake of the allegation.
