Widening its probe in the case of alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs, the Delhi Police has summoned two legislators from the ruling party, asking them to join the investigation.

Laxmi Nagar MLA Nitin Tyagi and Janakpuri MLA Rajesh Rishi have been asked to join the probe by the Delhi Police, ANI reported.

Two AAP MLAs - Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan - were arrested last month for in connection with the alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash during a meeting at Delhi Chief Minister's Arvind Kejriwal's residence on the night of February 19.

Both the MLAs were on February 22 sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court. While Deoli MLA Jarwal was arrested on February 20, Khan, an MLA from Okhla, was taken into custody the next day.

Prakash was allegedly assaulted by some AAP MLAs in front of Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia at the chief minister's residence on the intervening night of February 19-20. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has dismissed the accusation.

As part of its investigation, the police on February 23 had seized a hard disk of the CCTV camera system installed at Kejriwal's residence.

A total of 21 CCTV cameras and a hard disk were examined by the police.
Since the alleged attack on the chief secretary, officers have not been attending meetings of the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues, demanding that Kejriwal apologise for the incident.

The city administration has plunged into a crisis, with bureaucrats boycotting meetings with AAP ministers.

The joint forum of Delhi government employees, including IAS and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officers, have been demanding public, written apology from Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia for the incident.

Sisodia yesterday launched a scathing attack on ifficers and Lt Governor Anil Baijal over the boycott. He equated IAS officers association with a "khaap panchayat" which issues "fatwa" against the Delhi government.
