The Central government has approved the proposal estimated to cost Rs 105 crore, Additional Chief Secretary of Commerce and Industry N Baijendra Kumar said on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Raman Singh said with this project, Chhattisgarh will set a milestone in the direction of establishing non-core industries, according to Kumar. The Central government's approval to Electronic Manufacturing Cluster is the result of state government's consistent efforts, he said.

Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (CSIDCL) had earlier sent a proposal to the Centre regarding development of Electronic Manufacturing Cluster over 70 acres of land in Naya Raipur.

Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology gave green signal to this proposal in the meeting organised on October 13, 2014, Kumar said.

For the project, the Centre will contribute Rs 50 crore while remaining expenses will be borne by the state government itself. The industrial park will consist of nearly 50 industries of various electronic items and will be equipped with ultramodern amenities along with shopping centre, warehouse, hostel, club, training centre, tool-room, solid waste management, waste management plant and support service centre etc.
