Best selling Indian author Chetan Bhagat has landed in  a fresh controversy. Only days after getting legal notice from the Dumraon royal family for showing them in an unfavourable light in the book Half Girlfriend, the IIT-IIM grad turned author has been accused of plagiarism.

According to media reports, an English scholar from  Bihar Dr Birbal Jha has alleged that Bhagat has copied the story of 'half Girlfriend' from his play 'Englishia Boli'. Jha is currently the director of British lingua, a spoken English institute in Patna. Reportedly before writing the book, Bhagat had paid a visit to the  institute and interacted with Jha and students learning English under his tutelage. The storyline of that book is broadly similar to that of Half Girlfriend and Jha believes it is not a mere coincidence.

Jha's book was published a year before Bhagat's book was published. Jha is planning to serve a notice to Bhagat for lifting the theme of the article. He is also extremely angry at 'derogatory' portrayal of Bihari students in the widely popular novel.
