With just hours to go before counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls, police were kept on tenterhooks after yet another call to the control room claimed that bombs would go off at five areas in the city, including three counting centres tommorrow.
Though initial investigations showed the call made late last night to be hoax, police said security has been beefed up and they were enhancing vigil as part of efforts to ensure incident free counting.
Additional police and strike force personnel have been posted around counting centres at Anna University (south Chennai), Loyola College (central Chennai) and Queen Mary's College (north Chennai) besides certain "key locations," police said.
Following the May 1 twin blasts here, there have been several instances of hoax bomb calls. Two persons have already been arrested for making hoax bomb phone calls.
