The area near the Central Station will now be decongested and ensure free flow of traffic

The city will soon see Central Square being built near the Central Station. Chief Minister Jayalallithaa announced that the new project to cost Rs 400 crore will ensure that the area is decongested.
The Central Square will have walkways, underground parking and better roads. The area near Central Station has hospitals and government building in addition to the station itself.
A large lawn will also up at Ripon building once the metro work is complete.
The new square will benefit those commuting as well as it will be major transit point for buses, EMU trains and metro rail.
