A person filed a plea before a local court alleging that one of Gujarat's "most prominent" politicians allegedly duped him of Rs 95.

The person, who filed the plea, had allegedly posted 'objectionable' comments about Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel's granddaughter on social networking site Facebook in September, which the city crime branch is probing, after a complaint was lodged against him.

The applicant Roshan Shah has alleged in his plea that though he paid for an item ordered from a website called Craftroots, which is funded by a city-based NGO called 'Gram Shree', he neither received the purchased item nor was his money refunded.

Shah also alleged the NGO, which funds the Craftroots website, has one of Gujarat's "most prominent" politicians as one of its trustees.

"I purchased a writing pad made by kids, through the Craftroots website, by paying Rs 95 through credit card but neither did I get the product, nor was the money refunded to me," Shah said in his application.

Later, Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court number 13, where Shah's plea was submitted today, transferred it to court number 3.

The application is likely to be heard by the city metropolitan court on November 7.

Shah has sought legal action against the "senior Gujarat politician" and five others under Sections 420, 406, 34 and 120 (B) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating, criminal breach of trust, acts done by persons in furtherance of a common intention and criminal conspiracy.

Earlier, Shah had approached the city crime branch and filed an application seeking an FIR against the "senior Gujarat politician".

However, after his application was not considered by the police, he knocked at the doors of the city metropolitan court today.
