To sensitize school students on sustainable energy and energy conservation, the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (Cept) University has designed games for children under a joint project with the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
While 10 games, which were already with GEDA, are redesigned by Cept, five new games are being designed by the university. GEDA will take these games and distribute them to thousands of schools across Gujarat.
Although most of these are manual games, much attention has been given to arouse the interest of children and develop their knowledge and skill in various ways.
Interior and product designer Shrenee Dudhaiya, who is working with Cept on the project said, “While designing the games, we kept in mind both the themes like awareness on energy consumption and using eco-friendly products as well as the kind of games that would draw children’s interest. Moreover, to induce development skills among children, the games are designed in a way so that children can learn to create games on their own.”
