The VHP on Thursday alleged that the Central and Jammu and Kashmir governments were giving a complete leverage to separatists and demanded that the valley should be handed over to the Army.

"Both the state and central governments are giving a complete leverage to anti-national and separatists for declaring sedation against the country especially in Jammu and Kashmir," state VHP patron Ramakant Dubey claimed. "A complete revolt like situation took place yesterday in Kashmir wherein Syed Ali Geelani, Masarat Alam and others hoisted not only the Pakistani flags but raised anti-national slogans in the open," he said. "This was done in the open where security forces and J&K Police were just mute onlookers," he said.

VHP has been impressing upon both central and state government that unless and until valley is handed over to Army, situation can never improve, Dubey said. "Unless every such element who raises his head against the country and takes law into his hands is put behind bars, situation will never improve," he said.

"It seems recent release of Masarat Alam against the clear advice of the security personnel has ignited the situation at large. Having complete input from intelligence agencies against persons like Masarat Alam, present dispensation set him free, so that he could go against the nation in a much bold manner," the VHP leader said.

Dubey also questioned the preposition of assigning the chairmanship of "Unified Command" to a Chief Minister. He demanded that this chairmanship should permanently be given to GOC of northern command under the proper guidance of the state's Governor.
