Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday hit out at the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the centre, saying that the Centre needs to focus on two majir issues, mainly farmer suicides and improving the job market.

"As an opposition leader, I am advising him (PM Modi) that he needs to focus on the two main problems," Rahul said during his second day of his three-day tour of his constituency Amethi.

Speaking of the job market, Gandhi said that China produces 50,000 jobs every single day. "India, under Modi's Make In India, Start Up/Stand Up India, produces 450 jobs. During his Princeton lecture, Gandhi had said that ‘Make In India’ needed to focus on SMEs rather than large conglomerates.

"PM Modi should accept that there is a crisis and start working to resolve the crisis instead of panicking and making excuses," he added.

PM Modi on Wednesday had hit out at his critics, calling them pessimists. "There are some people who sleep well only after they spread a feeling of pessimism. We need to recognise such people,"  the PM had said.
