The ambitious project was approved by the Centre for Arunachal and Sikkim to create reliable state power grid and its connectivity to the upcoming load centres, state BJP President Tai Tagak told a press conference on Tuesday.

"The project will help to extend the benefits of the grid connected power to all the consumers including facilitation of construction of power supply to upcoming hydro power plants in the state," Tagak said while highlighting various achievements of the NDA government in its six months rule. He said a regional research station of Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture in the state had been approved by the Union Agriculture Ministry in the 12th plan expenditure finance committee meeting.

"The Centre has also cleared the pending unrewarded package of Trans Arunachal Highway projects and will soon approve the East-West Industrial Corridor Highway from Bhairavkund to Ruksin," he added. He said recruitment of ten men and women in Delhi police had been approved to be recruited from North Eastern states which would facilitate in providing assistance and security to the people from the region in Delhi.

A comprehensive telecom plan for Northeast has been approved by the cabinet during September, which will provide 2G mobile coverage in unidentified uncovered area of Arunachal and ensure reliability of redundancy in transmission network at state capitals and district headquarters.

Unfazed by China's objections to development of border areas, the Centre in October had announced setting up of 54 new border outposts and a Rs 175 crore package for beefing up the infrastructure along the border in Arunachal Pradesh, Tagak said.

"The union Home Ministry is working hard for a permanent and concrete solution to the vexed stapled visa issue, inter-state boundary issue between Assam and Arunachal and international boundary with China," he added.
Tagak also highlighted various initiatives of the NDA government in the past six months including controlling inflation, creation of jobs, priority to abolishing corruption, creation of special task force to bring back black money from abroad, creation of 100 smart cities, Clean India initiative and Make in India initiative among others.
