CCD slap video: Friend of man who was slapped alleges CCD has filed sexual harassment complaint against them

A few days after a law student Arpan Verma was slapped by a female staff member of coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day, his friend Nikhil Singh, who witnessed the entire incident, has alleged that CCD's lawyers have threatened to file a complaint of sexual harassment against Verma if he doesn't drop the charges.

On March 12, Verma visited CCD with his friends at Hawamahal, Jaipur. They placed the order and it was delivered to them. Everything was fine until Arpan saw cockroaches and other bugs at the display counter where other food items were kept.

Shocked at what he saw, Verma demanded that the staff reimburse him. Despite his protests, the staff allegedly continued serving the customers and according to Verma, covered the cockroaches with the food menu.

When Verma brought this to the attention of the other customers, the employees allegedly got agitated and asked him to leave. One employee abused him for creating disturbance at the store and a female employee started recording a video of Verma creating disturbance. Arpan too recorded the incident, narrating everything that was going on when the female employee slapped Arpan saying ‘Aap bohot bak-bak kar rahe hai’

CCD on its part said that the incident did not happen in a regular outlet, but in a limited period makeshift temporary setup running for tourist season.
