The police has questioned 25 people so far but no one has been arrested yet.
"Two cases have been registered and SIT has been formed for investigation. 25 people have been questioned so far but no person has been arrested," RP Upadhyay, Special CP, Delhi, said.
He said both the papers - Class XII Economics and Class X Mathematics - were leaked on WhatsApp a day before the respective exams.
"We are trying to trace the trail of paper leak. One private tutor was named by CBSE in their complaint, he has been interrogated," Upadhyay added.
In the wake of reports claiming paper leaks, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had yesterday announced re-examination of the two papers.
Earlier, reports said that the Delhi Police had detained a man named Vicky who runs a coaching centre in Rajinder Nagar. Media reports stated that Vicky is the kingpin of the operation and is being considered the main suspect. The police are also carrying out raids in Rohini, Dwarka.
DNA has learned that gang used to call students to outer Delhi areas like Uttam Nagar and Rohini metro station and were asked to pay between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000, following which the papers would be forwarded. In the letter to the Delhi Police, the education board stated that the complaint copy was forwarded to the regional office of CBSE on March 24 and to Inspector Sushil Yadav on his Whatsapp.
In its complaint to the police, the Board has said that they received a complaint by fax on March 23 from an "unknown source" that a man running a coaching institute in Rajinder Nagar was involved in paper leakage.
The complaint also named two schools in Rajinder Nagar for their involvement in the alleged leakage.
On March 26, when the students sat for the Economics paper, the CBSE Academic unit at Rouse Avenue received an unaddressed envelope in the evening containing four sheets of handwritten answers of the Economics paper.
