In December last year, RTI activist Nutan Thakur had filed a PIL in which she accused Yadav of large-scale corruption during his brisk rise in the Noida Authority between 2007 and 2014, spanning the BSP and SP regimes.
This was after income tax raids on premises Singh in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad on November 27, 2014 in which it recovered crores in black money and documents of plots in Noida.

The scrutiny of Singh's Income Tax Returns (ITR) and other connecting records had allegedly revealed that during the period 2009-2014, the total likely savings of the family of then Chief Engineer was approximately Rs1.70 crore whereas they were in possession of immovable property worth Rs3.60 crore.
