Sisodia further said the CBI failed to prove as to why they took away the documents of the year 2015 when they were investigating a matter that happened in 2007-2013.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said the judiciary has vindicated his government's stand that the raid at the office of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar at the Delhi Secretariat was 'politically-motivated'.
A special court asked the CBI to return some of the documents seized by them during the raid to the Delhi government.
"Today, the court has ordered returning of files that were seized by the CBI during the raid at the Delhi Secretariat. It vindicates our stand that the raid was politically motivated," Sisodia said.
"We have been telling this for long that the raid was carried out at the office of the Chief Minister in the name of Rajendra Kumar and it has been well observed by the court also," he added.
Sisodia further said the CBI failed to prove as to why they took away the documents of the year 2015 when they were investigating a matter that happened in 2007-2013.
"The court has categorically observed that it was an illegal and improper exercise to seize the files," he added.
Sisodia further claimed that the CBI also accepted that the so-called scam had no relevance with seized documents. He sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's apology for falsely raiding the Chief Minister's office and seizing wrong documents by the CBI since the agency was under him.
"The Prime Minister should apologise for politically motivated raid on Chief Minister Kejriwal's office, and we hope that action will be initiated against the officer who raided the office," he added.
While disposing of an application filed by the Delhi Government, seeking release of some of the documents seized by the agency, a special court directed the CBI to return some of the documents seized during the raid.
