CBI arrests IAS officer posted as Principal Secretary in Delhi government

The complainant had alleged that Singh had demanded the money in return for favouring his firm. The firm had been provding security guards and peons to the department on contract basis.

The Central Bureau of Investigation today apprehended a Principal Secretary in the Delhi government for allegedly demanding a bribe of rupees 2.2 lakh. According to CBI officials, the IAS officer was identified as Sanjay Pratab Singh and was posted in the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled and Minorities of Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).

The accused had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2.2 lakh rupees from the complainant whose firm was providing manpower to the Department of Welfare. According to the probe agency Singh is a 1984 batch cadre and had been posted in the department for quite some time.

The complainant had alleged that Singh had demanded the money in return for favouring his firm. The firm had been provding security guards and peons to the department on contract basis.
