Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced reward of Rs 5 lakh each for two wanted accused allegedly involved in the murder case of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar.

According to the CBI, on August 20, 2013, Dabholkar was gunned down by two motorcycle borne suspects Sarang Akolkar, 35, and Vinay Pawar, 37.

"Yes the agency has announced reward on Akolkar and Pawar who are absconding in Dabholkar murder case. Name of the informant will not be disclosed," said a CBI official.

In December 2016, Bombay High Court had told CBI that it was "bungling up" the probe in Dabholkar case by causing inordinate delay in obtaining forensic reports from the Scotland Yard.
