A formal complaint has been filed with the police by the former Chief Secretary of Delhi Omesh Sehgal at the ACB (Anti-corruption Bureau) against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's daughter for reportedly trying to 'bribe' an IAS officer.

Omesh Saigal, a retired IAS officer who had also served as Chief Secretary in Delhi, wrote a letter to Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) Chief S S Yadav seeking action against Kejriwal's daughter. Kejriwal had on Sunday claimed that corruption had come down by "70-80 per cent" after Aam Aadmi Party came to power and cited an example that how his daughter found out that officials were now wary of taking bribe when she went to get her driving license.
According to Kejriwal, his daughter had tried to bribe an official of Regional Transport Office (RTO) by pretending that she had not brought all documents but her plea was turned down. She again insisted, saying "Kuch le de ke kar lo na sir" but the official didn't budge. Citing media reports which have quoted Kejriwal of making these claims, Saigal in his letter to ACB Chief asked to verify his (Kejriwal's) statement and take action under Section 12 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
"I would like to draw your attention to Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 which states that whoever abets any offence under Sec 7 or 11 whether or not that offence is committed is consequence of that abatement, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than six months but which may extend to five years," Saigal wrote in his letter.
