Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal on Saturday avoided commenting on the reasons behind why Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's advisor T.K.A. Nair was quesioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Coal Gate scam.
"I have read in many newspapers, I cannot fathom why he was interrogated. This is a work of the investigative agencies to sort it out. Hence, I cannot make any further comments on this matter," Agarwal said.
According to reports, Nair was interrogated by the CBI on possible favors given to different companies in respect to coal blocks allocations. As the cancellation clause was not followed by the government.
On the other hand, according to the PMO, no criminality has been found against any of its officials.
