ZeeTen Cybernetics on Thursday proposed a new identification technology based on palm vein recognition technology. The suggested project called 'Panchari Chakra' would focus on Dynamic Identification System (DID) wherein the information would be available and utilised at several platforms for a simultaneous identification and verification process and would curb fake identity, informed Founder Director Col (Retd) Sanjeev Kaul.

"Inspired by 'Palm Vein Recognition Authentication Technology' developed by Fujitsu (Japan) and 'Direct Server Authentication' mode, Panchari Chakra works on individual's palm vein pattern. Since no two individuals share a palm vein pattern, the use of this technology to create an interface is the most credible method of securing an individual's identity," said Col Kaul, the man being the R&D of the project, and added that unlike other static identifications like UID, this technology registers the vein pattern that's possible only if the person is alive and blood is flowing; therefore there is no possibility of ID duplication.

The technology relies on Palmetrix, a device that uses near-infrared light to read palm veins, and a software that would store this information along with other details of the individual on a server. Although the technology was introduced in India around a decade ago, it wasn't used extensively except for marking attendance, acknowledged Kaul who wants to have an interface where information is channelised across the departments, sectors, states and countries.
