Cabinet likely to discuss Land Acquisition Act today

 The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is reportedly scheduled to clear a proposal to take the ordinance route to amend the Land Acquisition Act on Monday.

The Land Act, 2013, which came into force on January 1 this year, specifically says that 13 laws — seen as anti-industry — have to be amended within a year or they would come under the purview of the act. The Centre had earlier failed to pass the amendments in the winter session.
