Cabinet clears MoUs to be signed during PM Narendra Modi's three-nation tour

The Union Cabinet has cleared a number of memorandums of understanding which are expected to be signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three nation tour of China, Mongolia and South Korea.

India and China are to sign an MoU on co-operation in the field of mining and mineral sector. The MoU will provide an institutional mechanism and help in exchange of information on resources, laws and policy. The two nations will also sign an MoU for strengthening co-operation in the field of tourism and will be extending the tenure of the MoU for cooperation in traditional medicine which had expired in January 2013.

The Cabinet further gave a nod to the signing of MoUs between India and Mongolia for cooperation in the field of traditional systems of medicine and homoeopathy, for cooperation in border guarding, policing and surveillance as well as on the transfer of sentenced persons.

India will enter into an audio-visual co-production agreement with South Korea to enhance cooperation between the film industries of the two countries and for cooperation in the field of electric power development and new energy industries.
