Gaurav Bhardwaj, a contractor with BSNL, had submitted a complaint to CBI that Naresh Pal, then posted as Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil), used to demand bribe for passing the bills of the contractor.

A special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Panchkula on Wednesday sentenced a BSNL employee to 3 years rigorous imprisonment and for taking a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a contractor in the year 2008.
Gaurav Bhardwaj, a contractor with BSNL, had submitted a complaint to CBI that Naresh Pal, then posted as Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil), used to demand bribe for passing the bills of the contractor.
CBI, acting on the complaint, laid a trap on 15th December 2008 and arrested him while accepting the bribe of Rs.50,000, according to a press release issued by the agency.
Pal was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 30,000.
CBI filed the charge sheet on 10th April 2009 and the sentence was pronounced on 22 April 2015.
