A BSF jawan was today seriously injured after he was hit by a Pakistani sniper fire from across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Tangdhar, officials said.

They said the jawan was deployed at a forward defended location (FDL) along the LoC in the area, when a sniper shot hit him in the stomach region.

"The condition of the jawan is serious and he was being evacuated on foot till last reports came in," a senior officer said.

On Monday, the Pakistan Army violated an unprovoked ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir?s Uri Sector.

Earlier on Sunday, the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector in order to facilitate an infiltration attempt.

An army soldier was injured in the firing who was admitted in Poonch's Army hospital.
