“An under-construction tunnel was found during sanitisation operation along the international border between Vikram and Patel posts near Damana,” an official was quoted as saying by the PTI.
It must be noted that the tunnel was discovered just a day after a meeting of local commanders of the Pakistan Rangers and BSF.
According to an NDTV report, this was the second tunnel detected along the International Border. The first was unearthed in Sambha's Ramgarh sector.
A BSF official said the tunnel was being constructed to push a large number of terrorists into India "to cause havoc in festival season" in Jammu, the NDTV report said.
Apart from explosives, the BSF also found sleeper bags, digging tools and food items.
