Brussels terror attack: Nidhi Chaphekar's ordeal may be over, but scars continue to haunt

Anita Toor, Nidhi's sister informed that she remembers every detail of the incident and her doctors had asked her kins to discuss the tragedy with her.

The face of Brussels terror attack, Nidhi Chaphekar, who returned to India on Friday, had an emotional reunion with her family. 

Chapekar, 42, broke down after seeing her children Vriddhi and Vardhaan, as she hadn't met them since the incident. According to the Times of India,  her husband Rupesh Chapekar said, "Her homecoming is an extremely emotional moment for all of us, especially the children who could not travel to meet her owing to their studies. Nidhi will continue her recovery in a hospital in Mumbai".

The Jet Airways crew member, who was undergoing treatment in Belgium since last month-and-a-half, met her family in a hotel in Andheri in Mumbai, post which she was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital. She may now need to undergo an ENT surgery. Chaphekar had suffered 15% burns, according to sources her injuries seem to have healed and she may not have not have to undergo anymore surgeries for the burns.

Nidhi's sister, Anita Toor, informed the English daily that, Nidhi remembers every detail of the incident and her doctors had asked her kins to discuss the tragedy with her.

Amit Motwani, another Jet Airways crew operating out of the Brussels airport sustained injuries too. Indian embassy officials in Belgium said that he will be undergoing an eye surgery there next week, he may be sent to Mumbai after that.

In an official statement from the airline, they said that they would support Nidhi and her family. They would ensure that she is provided with the best medical treatment for her to resume her normal life at the earliest .
