"I have brought AAP Punjab this far, why will I quit the party," the party's Punjab state convenor Sucha Singh Chotepur said on Friday. Chotepur held a press conference to address the bribery allegations levelled against him.

Chottepur, who has been accused of taking  bribe for issuing tickets for the state election. 21 AAP leaders from Punjab, including MPs Bhagwant Mann and Sadhu Singh, had written a letter to party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asking him to immediately sack Chhotepur.

Chotepur, however, said, "My own friends have conspired against me. AAP mujhe phasa rahi hai, aur mere virodhi mujhe defend kar rahe hain (AAP is colluding against me and my opponents are defending me."

Chotepur also said, "I worked for AAP so hard, and brought it so far ahead, put my blood and sweat into it," adding that, "If I have done anything wrong, they should order a CBI inquiry against me. I am an honest man."

The party has taken a stern view of the charges against Chottepur. The politician is in the eye of storm after a video clip surfaced allegedly showing him taking money in a purported sting operation, which has been seen by Kejriwal earlier this month. Meanwhile, Chottepur, who is unhappy with AAP's ticket distribution, asked the party leadership to make the clip public so that he can get a chance to reply.
