Enraged over the death of a boy who was seriously injured three days ago, the family members along with residents of 8 Mill Asrawad on Wednesday staged a protest at Khudel police station demanding inclusion of two more persons in the FIR lodged by police in the case.
The youth was seriously injured in a feud between two families on December 22 and had succumbed to injuries on Tuesday evening.
According to family of the deceased boy, Yashwant (17), his father Kalyan Chaudhary had died two months ago.
A local resident of the area Babu, who is said to be practicing black magic for long, used to abuse Kalyan’s family in inebriated state. Babu reportedly threatened Yashwant’s family that he had eliminated Kalyan with black magic and would eliminate the entire family in same manner. Both the families got entangled into a feud on December 22 and Babu’s son Ishwar allegedly hit Yashwant with a spade, inflicting serious injury on the head.
The family after filing complaint with Khudel police had admitted Yashwant to MY Hospital on December 22 and later shifted him to Global SNG hospital on the next day.
Yashwant, however, succumbed to injuries on December 24 but the police which had arrested Ishwar under Section 307 of IPC, only booked him under Section 302 of IPC. The enraged kin of Yashwant reached Khudel police station on Wednesday morning and staged protest demanding inclusion of Babu and his son Rajesh’s names in the FIR. “If the police don’t include Babu and Rajesh, we would intensify the protest,” Yashwant’s relative Dr Laakhan Chauhan told dna.
The agitators could be pacified only with Tehsildar RC Khatedia’s intervention.
TI Khudel Vinay Arya said that the victim’s family had initially complained against Ishwar so he has been booked under IPC. The statements of Yashwant’s family would be recorded and affidavit would be sought from them, on their demand of acting against Babu and Rajesh, he said.
