Boy from Madhya Pradesh runs 100 meters in 11 sec, gets Kiren Rijiju’s support

Gurjar is a resident of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh and he was praised for his commendable achievement as an athlete.

A video of an athlete from Shivpuri, Rameshwar Gurjar, 19, running barefoot has been doing rounds on social media. This video has caught the attention of Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Kiren Rijiju who promised to secure the runner a place in the athletic academy. 

The video showed Gurjar running barefoot for a distance of 100 meters in just 11 seconds. Gurjar is a resident of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh and he was praised for his commendable achievement as an athlete. Rijiju tagged former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Twitter and wrote, “ Shivraj, tell someone to bring the runner to me. I will make arrangements for him to secure a place in an athletic academy.”  State Sports Minister Jeetu Patwari said that Rameshwar should be given better training facilities in Bhopal. He also said, “If such talent is provided with better sports facilities,  they can cover the distance of 100 meters in just nine seconds.” 

Gurjar has studied up to class 10 as he was forced to quit school due to his family’s financial condition. Gurjar said that given a chance, he will make India  proud.
