Bonanza for 60,000 ministerial services staff

Amending Rajasthan subordinate offices ministerial service rules, 1999, the department of personnel (DoP) has issued a notification related to fresh rules of new designation which come into effect immediately.

Nearly 60,000 employees of ministerial services were given a special bonanza of promotion with respected designation and relaxation in experience to get promotion by the state government on Friday.

Amending Rajasthan subordinate offices ministerial service rules, 1999, the department of personnel (DoP) has issued a notification related to fresh rules of new designation which come into effect immediately. Now a clerk grade II employee will be called junior assistant under all ministerial services across the state. On the other hand, the government gave relaxation up to 5 years experience to get promotion in the service which means if the post is lying then the eligible officer will soon get promotion.

The notification is line with continuance of a settlement which was made between the agitated employees and the government. However, the government is yet to decide their demand of hike in pay which was their primary demand.

“We welcome the decision of the government as now the clerks of the services will be get  respectable designation. Also, the relaxation in experience will benefit 10,000 employees of the services,” said Manoj Saxena, state president of Rajasthan state ministerial employees union, hoping the government to meet their demand on pay scale by a committee constituted by the government. More than 60,000 employees went on mass leave across the state recently. They were demanding grade pay of Rs 3600 and pay equivalent to secretariat employees.
