Bombay HC stops Amboli police from taking steps against an alleged cow vigilante

Barun Kashyap Bhuyan, an executive, was arrested last year by the Amboli police for making a false complaint with regards to being a victim of an alleged cow vigilante in the city.

The Bombay High Court on Thursday restrained the Amboli police from taking any further steps in case of Barun Kashyap Bhuyan who is charged with raising an alleged false alarm with regards to being a victim of an alleged cow vigilante

Advocate Vijay Hiremath appearing for Bhuyan mentioned the petition seeking quashing of the proceedings registered under section 153 A of the India Penal Code and seeking directions to the police to not file a chargesheet in the case.

Bhuyan, an executive who was arrested last year by the Amboli police for making a false complaint with regards to being a victim of an alleged cow vigilante in the city.

Bhuyan before being arrested had created an uproar over social media when he spoke about his 'tormenting' experience with regards to the cow vigilante.

However, during police questioning, Bhuyan revealed that the incident he spoke about was false. After being arrested he was released on bail.
