Multiple bomb scares in Delhi-Kathmandu bound flights halted the operations of Jet Airways and Air India flights on Wednesday.

Following a bomb scare, a Goa-bound aircraft was thoroughly searched in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Bengaluru airport authorities initiated the search operation in Air Asia's Bengaluru-Goa flight following the threat call.

"Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB) received a message of a potential bomb threat on the Goa- bound Air Asia I5 1721. In line with the airport's constant commitment towards passenger safety and security and as prescribed by the guidelines laid out by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the aircraft and the baggage hold were thoroughly screened," said the statement issued by the airport.

Meanwhile, the Delhi-Kathmandu (AI-215) flight was further delayed after a fresh threat call. Earlier, multiple bomb scares in Delhi-Kathmandu bound flights halted the operations of Jet Airways and Air India flights on Wednesday.

Jet Airways flight 9W260 Delhi to Kathmandu was delayed following a security alert. All 122 guests and seven crew members of this flight were taken to the waiting area.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Airports had received a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) threat call.
