After the controversy around BJP leader K Laxman's remark condemning Sania Mirza's nomination as the brand ambassador for the new state of Telengana, Sania took to Twitter to slam comments labeling her an 'outsider'.

The BJP leader K Laxman went on record calling Sania, 'Pakistan's daughter-in-law' and a 'non-local'. The statement outraged many across the country and prompted several Bollywood celebrities to come out in support of the tennis star.

Farah Khan declared in a tweet that she is proud of Sania.

Mushtaq Sheikh, better known as 'Sheikhspear' who has written Shah Rukh Khan's biographies and has also been a screenplay writer for films like Om Shanti Om, Billu and Ra.One, also voiced his support for Sania.

Reality show winner and Bollywood actress, Gauahar Khan also tweeted her disgust over the news.

Looks like the tennis star can take heart from all the support pouring in for her.
