A large number of people from Bohra community and political parties came forward in support of visually impaired Dr Fatima Jamali, who is sitting on fast in front of the office of divisional commissioner for past six days.
A procession was taken out by Congress and Bohra community from dharna venue to Gandhi statue in support of Dr Fatima.
Dr Jamali is demanding government job according to her qualification under quota for visually impaired people.
People of Bohra community, disabled, students, social activists and political workers extended their support to Dr Jamali and visited her at her dharna on Tuesday. They all assured her that they would support her in her pursuit.
Protestors raised slogans in support of Dr Fatima. Jauhar Manpurwala, a local Congress leader, said a memorandum was also given to Divisional Commissioner regarding Dr Fatima.
A Rakhi was also sent to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asking him to help Dr Fatima as CM has been assuring all possible support for women of the state.
MP Drishtiheen kalian Manch, Rashtriya Swabhiman Samwad, Nimad Mahasangh, Bohra Community, and a number of social activists including Dr Tapan Bhattacharya, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Zafar, GD Singhal, Ratanlal Gupta and others encouraged her.
Ashok Joshi of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said despite being visually impaired Dr Fatima struggled and achieved higher education. She has scored 92% in MPhil and is a PhD from DAVV. She has been running from pillar to post for the government job but all she has received is false assurances only.
