Buddhists celebrating the Dhamma Chakra Pravattana day here on Sunday condemned the Bodh Gaya blasts saying it should have been condemned more vociferously by the community than it was done.

"The moral ethics of the country is getting degenerated and that is why things like terrorism is winning over the good, a person who looks good outside should also be good inside," said Khenpo Mirti, Director of the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute here.

Speaking at a lecture session titled, 'Relevance of the Buddha Dharma in Contemporary World', Mirti said that the country will grow once there is sense the home and the country are one.

Tsering Nangyal Shanoo, member of the National Commission of Minorities, said, "the Bodh Gaya Temple Committee should be led by a Buddhist to understand the sentiments of the Buddhists".

"I was sad to see the security lapse at the temple and the little reaction from the Indian Buddhist community in response to a blast at our holiest shrine" he said.

Condemning the blast Bante D Sumedho, Director of the Dharmawara Buddhist Monk training institute said that the lack of respect and the loosing faith among youngsters have led to the prevalence of violence in the society.
