Amid concerns and demand to ban Blue Whale Challenge game, a Delhi Public School branch in Chhattisgarh asked students a question about the online game in the exam paper.
The question was asked to the students of the Korba branch of the school in the semester exam.
The students writing the Hindi language exam were asked to write in their own words (50) how two friends might converse about Blue Whale, reported the New Indian Express.
Several school students have allegedly committed suicide falling prey to the online game.
“Framing such question for students is an open violation of safeguards that we have been advocating. We will seek an explanation from the school,” said D K Kaushik, the Korba district education officer.
Last week, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre on a plea seeking a complete ban on the Blue Whale Challenge and sought a detailed reply on the matter within three weeks.
The Blue Whale Challenge is reportedly a suicide game in which the player is given certain tasks to complete over a period of 50 days and the final task leads him or her to commit suicide.
The player is also asked to share photos after finishing each challenge.
Admitting to being the driving factor behind the suicides of youngsters playing the game, Philipp Budeikin, who claims to have created the game, says that the victims were just ‘biological waste’.
"Victims were ‘happy to die’ and I am ‘cleansing society’," Budeikin told police when he was arrested in May this year.
A 17-year-old Russian girl has also been arrested by police for allegedly being the mastermind behind the Blue Whale Challenge, that encouraged players to commit suicide.
