Selection of candidates to contest for vacant MP and MLA was discussed on priority by BJP as party’s state think tank met for ‘chintan’ baithak on Thursday. At the meeting held under leadership of chief minister Vasundhara Raje at a private hotel, only selected 42 senior leaders and officials of the party were invited, however, even of these 13 were unable to reach the meeting.

The Ajmer lok sabha seat has been vacant after demise of BJP leader Sanwarlal Jat and by-elections are due here along with Mandalgarh assembly constituency. The by-elections will take place just before state goes for assembly polls in end of 2018 and BJP wants to leave no stone un-turned to ensure its victory. However, talking to media party state president Ashok Parnami denied the candidate selection to have been discussed at the meeting and said that “at the ‘chintan’ bethak there were also other issues to undergo deliberation,”.

Among these were also the future plan for party activist to take the schemes of BJP government at state and center among common public. Also discussions were reportedly held on the plans to celebrate achievements of BJP government in state on completion of four years of its present term.
