Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi Dr Harshvardhan on Friday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making a mockery of democracy in the name of ‘Swaraj’ by asking people give their opinions via short message service to help it make a decision.

“They cannot delay their decision saying that they want to make their decision on the basis of the number of messages they get from the people of Delhi. What if they don’t come to a definite conclusion by doing that? Will they ask the whole country to send them messages?” said Harshvardhan.

“This is no way of taking a decision. They should have the capacity and capability to make a decision on their own if they want to run a state,” he said.

“We have been saying from day one that if the AAP wants to form a government in Delhi, they should do it fast. Because when the public elects someone to govern them, they put their powers in their hands and they need to be decisive,” he added.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday had said that it will take the views of the people of the city till Sunday, and ask them for their reactions to forming a government with the Congress Party.

Addressing media here, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that being a people's party, they would carry out a referendum among the people of the city, and decide what to do next.
